Why is it......

Why is it that a baby sleeps all day without being held, but when you try to lay him down at night he wakes up? Just wondering. Oh by the way another question that I've wondered. Why is it that a baby knows when your sitting and they want you to stand and will cry until you do?

Vacation!

I need a vacation. Before school starts we are going to Indiana to visit my grandma. My four youngest children have not met her. I have not seen her for six years. She lives on the most beautiful lake property and it is so peaceful. So we're taking a road trip! Then we are going to Utah to visit family there. Brothers and sisters, cousins and friends. We are all so excited we really need to get out of Kansas for a change of scenery and to be refreshed.

Is it just me?

Is it just me or does everyone have the same child hearing problem? I can talk right to them and they did not hear me. They didn't even know I was standing there. I have to make them notice me and look at me before I start talking. Do they need to read my lips or just get their attention off of other things? Many times I think they heard me and the thing that I asked was not done. I ask if they heard me and they say.....what?!

Summer nights

Oh how peaceful the summer nights are with.........MOM.......ok not so peaceful! Since the kids don't have school they think they need to stay awake until they just drop in their tracks. Especially after the new baby came. Oh well they only have a few more weeks and then it should be peaceful fall nights!

Saturday

I love Saturday what a relaxing day......or is it busier..............hmmm well any way. No deadlines noplace I have to be at a certain time. Children want to go play. At the park, zoo or the YMCA. Ok it's a fun, relaxing and busy day.

An excellent park

There is a park near my home. My children call it the water park. It has an awesome water area with spouts and sprays and dumping buckets it is a free park and it is just wonderful. It is every bit as good as a water park you might pay admission to. The children play and the moms can visit and relax while they sit and watch. We play there for hours until the children decide they are hungry or just ready to go. I'm glad for things like this to give us fun ways to get out of the house in the summer and build fun memories for the children.

The best potty training experience

I had just had a baby one month prior to this story. I was talking to my friend about potty training my two year old. She said don't even try just after you had a baby. The next day Victoria said "potty potty and poop". It has been two weeks and she has only pooped in her diaper two times and she is dry more often than wet and if she is wet it's only a llitle bit. She even wakes up dry from naps. She tells me "potty, potty" when she needs to go and most of the time she's dry. I'm so glad she is doing it by herself even when I just had a baby and people didn't think it was the best time.
